Founder, President and CEO of D&A Communications. She oversees day-to-day management of the firm and serves as lead strategist for agency accounts. Since 1996, Davis & Associates has provided communications, marketing, advertising, public engagement and social media services to government agencies, businesses and non-profit organizations. Her knowledge of the inner workings of local communities, combined with statewide and national public relations experience, gives her a unique advantage in designing community engagement and broad public awareness programs that have real impact. She believes communications is about education, establishing connections and bridging divides through helping clients create lasting relationships with the public, whether its through designing a new brand and logo, or developing key messages and a robust public education program. She has led more than 200 client projects.
Prior to founding D&A Communications, Darolyn spent her early career in politics at the state level. She served as press secretary to then California State Assemblyman Willie L. Brown, Jr., developing communications strategies for complex issues, crafting targeted messages and coordinating media and public relations events. In Sacramento, Darolyn worked closely with newly elected legislators, helping to reinforce their legislative agendas using media and community outreach strategies. She produced cable television programs and public service announcements featuring elected officials. She also wrote countless newspaper articles and brochures.
Anthony brings 15 years of experience to the D&A team. He focuses on creating and facilitating innovative communication and outreach strategies for D&A clients, and specializes in integrated marketing strategies, social media, video production, partnership development, media relations, event management and community engagement for diverse audiences and markets.
Scott thrives at creating strategic communications and targeted community outreach campaigns, with more than 13 years of experience helping organizations develop strong, authentic relationships with key stakeholders and managing clients' reputations. His work has included media relations, coalition building, crisis communication, community and government relations, special event management, marketing and customer experience management for brands ranging from local, small businesses and civic groups to vital public agencies, international financial service firms, Hollywood studios and global air transportation providers. With a particular expertise in crisis communication and issues management, Scott focuses primarily on helping clients earn critical community buy-in for important projects and initiatives while also building and maintaining positive, long-term stakeholder relationships. His work includes helping all types of organizations develop and express the personality behind their brand through various forms of communication across multiple platforms. Previously, Scott led public affairs for two major international airports and held various public affairs and advocacy positions with Airports Council International-North America, Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) and Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide. Scott is a graduate of Boston University's College of Communication.
Vince is a Communications Specialist with experience in public relations, community engagement and graphic design. With an emphasis in all aspects of communications outreach, he combines his knowledge of media relations, editing and analytics to provide comprehensive and statistical perspective for D&A Communications' clients. Vince's specialties include online marketing, community management, social media, event management, content creation, graphic design and video editing. He has several years of experience in the non-profit sector, and has a passion for creating multimedia content that inspires action. Vincent also has extensive experience in event logistics, partnership development, fundraising and grant writing. Vincent previously worked as a Communications Associate and Event Manager for Breathe California where he was responsible for event logistics, email marketing, corporate funding development, volunteer recruiting and event participation. Vincent also has experience implementing community outreach programs and executing online marketing campaigns throughout the Bay Area.
Heather is an experienced visual communication designer with over eight years of experience. She has a keen eye for detail, a strong technical ability and boundless enthusiasm for creative design and photography. Heather has both managed and been lead designer for projects including strategic marketing plans, annual reports, brand identity and promotional collateral. She approaches her work by blending creativity with strategy, art with technology and design with business. Heather received her Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art, Photography from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Previously, Heather worked for Visit California (VCA) where she was the Principal In-House Designer and managed the Creative Services Team. At VCA Heather managed both a production team and budget and used her design skillset to support a variety of requests; including, presentation support (design and audiovisual), video production, event production and graphic design.
Perry brings more than 20 years of experience in web development and graphic design to the D&A Communications team. He has developed websites for public and private sector clients including Kaiser Permanente and the San Francisco Community Investment Fund. He utilizes the latest in web technology, coupled with his graphic design experience, to create websites and email programs that are unforgettable.
Cherilyn brings over five years of planning and executing effective community outreach and education programs for many Fortune 500 corporations and state agencies, as well as over three years of top-notch project management for community-based organizations serving low to moderate income communities throughout California. She specializes in disseminating complex policies and creating grassroots outreach campaigns to hard-to-reach and underserved communities.
Rahel brings more than six years of experience in increasing brand visibility, growing stakeholder engagement and increasing awareness and shaping public perception. Throughout her career she has combined traditional PR, content marketing, community outreach and social media to engage with target audiences, providing them with access to information and tools that help inform decisions. Rahel is the 2016 Director of Diversity & Inclusion for San Francisco's Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and she sits on the Museum of African Diaspora Vanguard Leadership Council.
James Dewitt Yancey
With more than three years of experience in public accounting, Amechi has extensive knowledge in tax, business law and generally accepted accounting principals. From Pharma Tech to apparel, he has helped support clients in a diverse group of industries with accounting and operations needs. At D&A, Amechi's main focuses include contract compliance, accounting, and client relations. He is well versed in accounting software including QuickBooks, Paychex, Microsoft Office 365 and much more.
