The importance of a community benefits program is that it allows the SFPUC, and any municipal utility that has a similar program to be a good neighbor. By working together with community members to positively impact those communities the SFPUC is working hard to be a good neighbor to all those impacted by its activities and promotes sustainability by adoption of a triple bottom line. This balances SFPUC’s economic, environmental, and social equity goals.
