Finance and Accounting Manager

Salary is negotiable and the position is open until filled.

Full Time for first 6 weeks, Part time position after 6 weeks (flexible) 5+ years of accounting experience needed. CPA needed.

For nearly two decades, D&A Communications (a boutique marketing and public relations firm) has developed creative strategies that stimulate public interest in community issues, public policy, products, and services.

Job Summary

The Finance and Accounting Manager for D&A Communications communicates reports directly to the CEO and manages the company’s finances directly to the CEO. The analyst will need to study the company’s accounting cycle, processes and procedures and develop accurate reporting using appropriate accounting and business metrics to be able to allow the CEO to make critical financial decisions. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding and experience with accounting and finance for small business, Microsoft Excel, and communicating financial information.

Responsibilities and Duties

Responsible and accountable for managing all bookkeeping functions, up to and including:

  • • Analyzing current and past financial data
  • • Looking at current financial data and identifying trends and qualitative data
  • • Develop long term plans for direction of business alongside CEO
  • • Overseeing day-to-day processing of accounting cycle of company.
  • • Preparing and updating overhead, budget, profitability and forecasting reports.
  • • Improving and implementing accounting procedures and practices for efficiency and improved financial growth
  • • Develop useful accounting metrics to analyze each client of the company.
  • • Explore various improved investment opportunities with CEO
  • • Suggesting budgeting improvements


Qualifications and Skills

Strong understanding of Accounting principles and practices, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data; advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel); proficiency with Apple Computers and software; ability to produce reports/graphs/charts/tables in Word, Excel and PowerPoint within tight deadlines; Ability to prioritize multiple task at the same time; strong organizational skills along with effective time management skills; strong verbal and written communication skills; customer focused and team oriented; high integrity and honesty; ability to set and manage priorities; self-starter; ability to work with minimal direction and supervision.
